The boxes in the garage
Everyone has them. The bookcase that came flat. The bed frame with forty-eight pieces and picture-only instructions. The gallery wall you've been meaning to hang since March.
It's not that it can't be done. It's that it eats a whole Saturday, needs tools you may not own, and half of it ends up slightly crooked.
What we do
- Flat-pack furniture assembly of any kind, plus cribs, exercise equipment, outdoor furniture and grills.
- Pictures, mirrors and gallery walls.
- Floating shelves, closet systems and wall storage.
- Curtain rods and blinds.
- TV wall mounting, into studs, always.
- Door hardware: deadbolts, handles, rekeying and battery smart locks.
- Wi-fi routers and mesh systems, smart device pairing and battery video doorbells.
- Bathroom hardware: towel bars and hooks.
We show you everything
Before we leave, we open every drawer, test every door, and show you the level on every mounted piece. Anything with an app gets set up on your phone, not ours.
Dressers, bookcases and wardrobes get anti-tip anchors every time. It isn't an add-on and it isn't optional. Then we take the boxes with us. All of them.
What it costs
Most items have a set price, so you know the total before we start. Send a list or a photo of the boxes and we'll price it.
What we don't do
Anything that needs a licensed trade gets referred out, never attempted:
- Smart switches, dimmers or outlets.
- Hardwired cameras, doorbells or anything on permanent wiring.
- Ceiling fans and light fixtures.
- Running new cable inside walls.
- Plumbing.
- Anything that needs a permit.
We also don't do drywall repair beyond patching a hole we made, painting or furniture repair. If you ask for something we don't do, we'll tell you plainly and give you a name if we have one.
How it works
- Send a list or photos of the boxes. Either works.
- We price it and confirm before starting.
- Floor protection goes down. We count all the parts before beginning.
- We assemble, mount and hang. You confirm placement before anything is drilled.
- Everything gets shown to you. Spare hardware is bagged and labeled.
- All packaging leaves with us.
Questions we get
How long does a typical job take?
A dresser takes about an hour. A bed frame, one to two. A gallery wall depends on how many pieces. Send a list and we'll estimate honestly.
Do you mount TVs into drywall?
Never into drywall alone. TV mounts go into studs, and we photograph the studs before the mount goes up so there's a record.
What if a part is missing?
We count everything before we start, which is when missing parts turn up. If something's missing we tell you right away, not two hours in.
Can you install a smart thermostat?
Ask us. Battery and plug-in devices we handle. Thermostats we're still checking on, and we'll tell you where that stands.
Will you take the boxes?
Yes. Cardboard, foam, plastic, all of it.
